Dear Nura
We acknowledge receipt of your UCAS application to study on the three-year full time Occupational Therapy degree programme at the School of Healthcare Studies, Cardiff University.
For practical reasons, we do not wish to invite you for an interview, but the Department of Occupational Therapy wishes to be assured of your understanding of the work of an occupational therapist and your suitability for the teaching style of the department.
In lieu of an interview, we would, therefore, ask you to submit an essay and short report in support of your application.
The title of the essay is:
"THE WORK OF AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST IS TOO VARIED TO ONLY BE CONSIDERED IN A HOSPITAL SETTING". This should be no more than 700 words long.
The brief report, of no more than 500 words, is in relation to your style of learning, to include the methods of learning you have used, the methods of learning you prefer and the extent to which you feel your learning style is suited to our Department of Occupational Therapy's teaching style.
The attached information on the degree programme should assist you with both essay and report.
Please submit your essay and report to me by Monday 20th December 2010.
My email address is StantonDM@cardiff.ac.uk
Essays and reports received after this date will, I regret, be unsuccessful.
I look forward to receiving these.
Yours sincerely
Diana Stanton
